DAR Could be the fingers are not adjusted right, or the drive member does not slid free on the splines, to much free peddel. Could be bad pilot bearing. If you put it in gear and stop the gears from turning, then take it out of gear and hold the clutch will the gears start turning again. If so I would say bad pilot bearing or the finger adjustment. You can adjust the fingers with the clutch in the tractor. I can't tell you the adjustment because I always could adjust fingers on a machine for just that.
