Hard to go wrong with a 656, if you've been using a M it will be like crawling out of a Ranger and into a Super Duty. On the issue of gas, a 656 will burn it faster then a M, but will also accomplish more while burning it. We have owned one 656 gas since it was new back in 1967, its been the "cold weather tactor" its entire life - always hate starting diesels in freezing weather to do chores.
