I have been resisting converting my Super M to 12 volts because I want to keep it original, but I still suffer the slow cranking syndrome. I just discovered a "6/12 volt" battery that gives you 12 volts for cranking and 6 volts for everything else. It doesn't require any modifications to the charging/ignition/lighting circuits. Sounds like a solution (I don't know how inexpensive a solution). Has anybody had any experience with these? I've never seen any discussions on the YT site about them. It must be more than just a center tap on the battery if the usage of both halves of the battery are to get equalized.
