Dear Cowman, On our farm in northern Indiana We had a derilict feed mill which had been cobbled together from a mill stone (origin unknown) and a circular two horse walking beam system that mounted on a post a bit more than head high, so the mill could be tended. There was a neighbor who had a setup that had a drum like hopper on top of the stone. this had a walking beam attached near ground level turning the stone and hopper. Pictures, I do not have. There was a pioneer farm with a mill west of Minneapolis ~50 miles but I don't know the web site name. Putting in horse powered grist mill gave me thousands of hits JimN
