I"m looking at my Maunal for the 504 and is shows the Resistor next to the voltage regulator up by the dash. Mine in down mounted right on top of the coil on the side of the engine. Is this a noral variation of the wiring or could this be something that the previous owner has done? I tried to trace the wiring but nothing matchins color wise with the book anyhow. Plus its all been repainted. BTW I.m just up the road from you (Mason City) and I"ll take yesterdays weather anyday over today. To cold to be working on wiring....lol
