It is the Hydro version of the 666. In fact, IH built a 666 Hydro for a year before relabeling it the Hydro 70. They did this because the 666 gear drive had slightly more horsepower. The Hydro 70 Diesel is rated at about 62, 666 gear has 65 horses. The loader was probably a 2350, a bit much for a tractor that size. There's no such thing as a Hydro 80, your friend must have a Hydro 86, which replaced the Hydro 70, and is the Hydro version of the 686. Most 686/Hydro 86's are identical to the 666/Hydro 70, but the late 686/Hydro 86's had the 310 German diesel instead of the American D-312. If your friend has a Hydro 84, that's a totally different machine, based off of the 684 British utility tractor.
