If you think this scam is limited to tractors and parts, think again. I was attempting to buy a used computer system for my wife a few weeks ago. I bid on several and when the bids were nearing the price of a new one, I stopped and moved on to another. Each time, I was contacted by the "seller" saying I had a second chance to buy the computer for my last high bid. It looked good until I contacted one of the sellers and he went vague on me with follow-up information. My problem with following up on this scenario was that I became so skeptical of any contacts, with or from eBay, that I gave up on the process completely and bought a new one from a warehouse via phone. These folks are setting at their computer 24 hours a day watching our moves and making contacts. If one of us in 100 falls for the scam it is a good payoff.
