154 lo boy needed

Hi guys
Working on a 154 c-60 engine.Do I need to put some kind of sealer on the head gasket? Can I put a temp gage in the lower water out let,or some place? It has a oil lite, but would like a gage. Where would put the oil line? Ok one more. How do I drain the hy-trans oil? I would like to put in fresh oil and filter. You guys have a word of info.
