Casey, I had a 21’ 475 that I pulled behind my 966, stock hp with 18.4 X 38 tires. In corn stalks it would pull it in low 4th fine, in plowed or chiseled ground I had to go to low 3rd and sometimes even use the TA in order to pull it. If this is the tractor that you are going from 34 to 38 inch tires you will probably have a larger rolling radius on the 38 inch tires. This translates to higher ground speeds and less power in a given gear, but also should have more traction due to larger footprint. What I’m getting at, is that you may need to use a lower gear than you anticipate for pulling tillage equipment with the 38 inch tires. As others have said, you can use the disk with the wings up (or take them off) if you can’t pull it. I think you will find you will have the power to pull the full width, but possibly not at the speed you would like to be moving at. Another option is to take blades off the wings and just put large washers (the same thickness as a blade) where you take the blades off the ends. If the deal is as sweet as you say, buy it. You have options if you can’t pull the whole disk.
