How to Email a Link

Each time I try to email a link for a particular message thread, all that gets sent is a link to the opening page of the YT website. I use Netscape for my web browser. Has anyone figured out how to have the link take the recipient directly to the message thread of interest? If you guys are as good at computers as you are at fixing tractors, I will shortly be proven to be pretty dumb. Thanks for the help.
