I bought one several years ago. The owner said it was a super M, I ran Ms and Super Ms for a guy before but couldn't figure out the live pto as I had never seen an M with one. Looked at serial number tag and found out what it was. I had always owned JDs so this was all new to me. It was stuck, ta out low side, bad tires and cracked wheels but other parts all there and an aftermarket 3 point. Since the guy only wanted $100 for it I didn't think I could loose. Actually paid more for the JD #80 blade with it. I put in piston and liner kit and cam shaft(chipped on gear end) and ran with ta on high side for several years. Eventually had to split it to replace seasonal disconnect coupler, so rebuilt the TA. Also changed it over to 12 volt with alternator. As mentioned, a lot of parts are common to M, super M and some of the number series. Yours sounds fairly serious. There was a guy who posted here a couple days ago that had an smta parts tractor, maybe you could get together with him.
