Take the bottom plate to a machine shop and have it milled. find the clearance spec's and shim the plate to the recomended clearance.normally .001 thousands if I recall. The culprit is not always wear,it takes very little water to freeze and push the plate down preventing the pump from pumping good oil pressure.
