clever idea, I never thought of that. I have also heard of guys fixing cracks in blocks by drilling a small hole, tapping it, plugging it, drilling the next hole overlapping the last hole&plug, tapping it, plugging it......on & on until it is full. This is also how they fix cylinder heads. I don't know though how structurely sound it is an it won't close up the previous crack......p
