I've had excellent luck using red RTV (silicone) gasket maker in place of cork gaskets and sealer. Apply per instructions and it seals very nicely. Also it's cheap and it ALWAYS fits! Kerosene or diesel fuel is as good a tranny flush as anything. Simply pour it thru the transmission. Or for a more thorough clean, fill the tranny with kero/diesel then run drive it around a few minutes to stir things up, then dump. Incidentally collect the used solvent flush. Let it sit for a few days to the junk to settle, then pour off all but the last gallon or so into a clean container. It'll be fine for another flush, for parts cleaning, etc!
