You can get a 36" wide, 5' length of 1/16" vegetable fiber gasket material from MSC Industrial Direct Co., Inc. (item no. 31945793) for around $35US. Sure, it's more work but I think you'll be happier in the long run. Someone here suggested this solution to me - he said to cut out the trans cover plate gasket and what's left over will provide enough material for many of your other gasket needs. Haven't had the cover off my H yet to try it but I've used the material for several other gaskets in the meantime. Regarding flushing the trans, search the archives. Some have suggested 1/2 kerosine, 1/2 trans oil - others all kerosine. Some say the thinned out stuff may affect your seals so you've been warned. With the cover off, most recommend just mopping it out with rags. I think I'd probably use the thinner stuff while mopping to get all the sludge and bits out and then just flush it with HyTrans oil.

A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
