Oh so thats what it does. I wasn't sure what start did over run, other than it works good for cold weather starts and once it does start the tractor doesn't have any power if left there and runs choppy, just like pulling the choke on a gas tractor. Yes, the entire 84 series IH's all have the same lever in the center just above the transmission. Your 584 good on fuel?, our 484 runs all day long on 5 gallons of diesel. I know 584 and up had 4cyl engines and the 384 and 484 has 3 cyl engines. Thanks alot Mike!
