Thanks Wolfmantractor for your help - looked in the place you indicated and can`t find anything there - this tractor has a front end loader and the number may be covered by the loader sub frame.
However I did locate an aluminium plate on the left side bell housing where it meets the motor - has the number - 279469 BRX D - perhaps this is the seial number. Can anyone help me to understand the meaning of it.
