yup sounds like 2 that I have. Ive had one since i was 19 and im 58 now. I plant corn with it, have planted beans and milo as I have around 2 doz different plates. Mine has 2 discs, around 8in dia that open the furrow, if yours has that, u didnt mention it. DO NOT overly grease the trip mechanism deep inside, itall cause you grief. It should have 8 grease zerks if I remember correctly. Mine has a IHC 2 row fertilizert attachment on it, and I have a hericide attachment ive never used as I dont know where you can find granular herbicide anymore. IT tends to be light in the rear end on sandy soil, even with the fertilizer boxes full. Ive added weight on the one I no longer use as it didnt have the fert boxes. You can build a platform inbehind the trip mech and put a bag of seed there, which helps with the weight, and is there if you need it. it tends to siide a bit on flat sandy ground, and probably would also on hillier loam ect. All in all, its a good planter, BUT It wont plant perfect spacings. It has 2 3 tooth cogs on the axle running under the planter boxes and a few gears that can be interchanged with the drive chain. I usually put in regular corn and drive it down the driveway so as to see what kind of spacing im getting. If you need any advice other than this, let me know
