IH had some cadmium plated parts later on but I think the rims were galvanized, they are not supposed to be shiny, that's why I don't like aluminum paint. I believe the rims produced in the mid to late 50's were painted, not sure of the date. Again, there was no official paint code, as IH (and Allis) got their rims from an outside supplier, and only specified corrosion resistance, not the shade of paint. This info comes from Guy Fay, he can correct the details. The only original rims I paid any attention to are the ones on my Super H, I don't think it had ever been repainted. They were rusty, but the remaining color sure looked like galvanizing to me. Just like the old faded garbage cans, or chain link fences.
