Is your distributor installed incorrectly? If it is go to page 9 on this forum and look for Chris Willy's posting on a Farmall M that needed help with a distributor problem and read my posting if your distributor has been removed. If you just need to check the timing and the tractor is running I use a timing light. You just connect lead to No1 plug wire near the radiator and hook up the timing light to a battery. Put some chalk on the first timing mark on the damper pulley. Let the engine idle and hold timing light on timing pointer. If it is off loosen distrbutor bolt enough so you can move it. Move distr slightly so marks are aligned. Hal
