The valve for the SH head will be different than the lower compression H head. I think that they will be longer. It makes no sense to me that they changed the valve when they redesigned the head. The springs for the 8043 and 6186 heads appear to be the same. On pages 254, 258, and 259 of the parts book, they give a list of the part numbers, but no dimensions other than some cap screws.

The H cam was 0.203" lift and the SH cam was 0.240". If your motor is apart far enough to get the cam out, it is worth having it reground to the SH specs. Have the lifters resurfaced at the same time.
