We powder coat brake pads for automotive applications under the Raybestos name brand.
The cure test is with MEK. When cured properly, the MEK will not touch it. The only way we can get the coating off is with a wire wheel or sand blasting. Powder coating when done correctly is some really tough stuff.
It hardly seems worth the money you would spend to powder coat an engine block.
