The one marked 'S' should be the one that the wire from the starter switch is connected to. The one that goes to the on-off switch is usually connected to the upper large post on the starter - this connects the battery to the rest of the electrical system. However, it should be have a very large ring terminal on it. If it doesn't and you know that it has not been broken off or something, then you need to carefully trace this out because something may have been modified on this particular tractor. The one marked 'R' is to bypass the ballast resistor when the starter is cranking, thus giving the ignition coil more voltage. You may or may not be using this particular feature.
