If its grinding to much to put it in gear it needs to be tightened up. If it don't want to go into gear then it needs to be loosened up. The best I can describe the adjustment is when you push the clutch pedal all the way down, count to three, and put the lever into gear and the gears will grind lightly and stop to shift into gear. Then when you let the clutch out to let the tractor creep ahead a little push the clutch pedal back in and the tractor should roll back and the shift lever will come out of gear easily. If not then loosen the tranny brake 1/2 turn or so.
