Paul, I hire a crew every summer. Lots of times, they find me, so I try to discourage them from working here. Organic farming does not look so glamorous from the back side of a hoe when it is 90 degrees and there are lots of mosquitos. If they are still interested, they have to come out and work with me for a day. It is easy to spot someone who is a good worker vs. someone with romantic notions about farming. If they still don't work out, I talk to them one week and generally fire them the next. If you have an Ag school near you or if your department of Ag has a beginning farmer program, they might also be places to look for workers. Students turn into pumpkins on the first of September. In either case, you would probably have to find someone new every year. Hope you find somebody good. Greg
