Touch control on Super A

I am rebuilding the touch control unit on my 49 Super A. The two lower pistons (control valves) can be installed one way or 180 degrees the other way. The pistons have two holes on one side that can face either toward the center of the unit or away from it. I can"t remember which way they came out! It never pays to get old. I appreciate any help. Thanks.
