Had a similar problem a couple of years ago with my '47 H. Mine would die after about ten or twenty minutes of running. Replaced the coil. Hasn't happened again. Do the coil check (after it gets to where it won't start) where you hold the distributor end of the center wire about 1/8" away from a good ground, turn the engine over - if the coil spark is yellow or orange instead of the usual white/blue, try a new coil.
