The B250/B275's did not have complicated technology and so it was like decades of tractors before them , a bowl to catch dirt particles and water, a simple way to do the job. I can't imagine why the paper work says that water removal is a daily job, however...turn the fuel shut off lever in, it should be integrated on the fuel bowl housing, this stops fuel from coming from the tank. Then unscrew the set nut that is up against the bottom of the glass bowl, when it is loose enough slide the wire holer and set nut off to one side and you should be able to pull the glass bowl down and remove it. Be carefull that it doesn't fall on you and break. Dump the contents and clean the glass bowl, carb cleaner will do this easily, pull down the gasket and screen that were directly above the bowl, the screen may need to be cleaned and the gasket replaced. Most tractor dealers carry gaskets for bowls and screens, TSC carries the kit. You may be able to use the ones you have. Replace the screen, gasket and bowl back into place and tighten the set nut but not all the way. The fuel entering the bowl must displace the air in the bowl and if you tighten it tight the fuel won't come into the bowl. Turn the valve open and let the bowl fill, when it starts running over the bowl, tighten the set screw until there is no more fuel leak. Water in fuel should not really happen if you keep fuel tanks and fuel cans properly, condensation in the tractor tank can be dealt with by adding some methol hydrate(gas line deicer) which will get rid of moisture, you can also dump a quart of Automatic Transmission Fluid into a tank of fuel. The ATF will remove moisture, lube the pump and give energy to the fuel. A friend of mine who was an Allis Chalmers dealer for 45 years recommends that you do this with diesels...I do it on my B250 and my 584, never have fuel problems and seldom have to take the bowl off except for residue in the bottom, spring cleaning! Good luck Derek...Mike in Exeter Ontario

Tuning-Up Your Tractor: Plugs & Compression Testing - by Curtis Von Fange. The engine seems to run rough. In the exhaust you can hear an occasion 'poofing' sound like somethings not firing on all cylinders. Under loaded conditions the tractor seems to lack power and it belches black smoke out of the exhaust. For some reason it just doesn't want to start up without cranking and cranking the starter. All these conditions can be signals that your unit is in need of a tune up. Ok, so what is involved in a tune up? You say, swap plugs and file the points....now tha
