You have lots of advice on the fuel problem. I use an in line filter as well. I also have had points that don't want to stay adjusted. Steering slop is a common problem and is wear on the steering gear. At the base of the steering shaft there is a cover on the right side. If you open this there is a gear wheel and a worn gear. If you take the gear wheel off and rotate it 180 you will have the worm gear ride on "new" teeth. This will get rid of 90% of the wobble.
