You would think that after 52 years it would have read all the warnings and quit smoking, but I guess it will probably keep doing it until it dies unless you do something radical to it! (I couldn’t resist either) By the way does it ever blow smoke rings? Those are kind of neat… On a serious note, does your engine have a lot of blow-by especially after it warms up? If so, from what you have posted here now I would say it is definitely due to worn or stuck rings and worn sleeves. If it just smokes a bit at start up and has very little blow-by coming out the breather, then it is more likely to be from valve guides. Probably not what your pocket book wanted to hear, but…
