Kevin - Like the other's suggest the smallest output 10SI you can find is more than adequate for any Farmall's needs. I ask for one for a 1980 Chevy Citation (which happened to be the donor for of my 1st alternator used for a conversion). But any alternator from any small/mid-size GM car or light truck built between about 1975 and 1985 or so will work fine. Also the rebuilt units supplied by NAPA, etc are rated for 55 or 61 amps, despite what is stamped on the case. Yugrotcart: I think your generator rebuilder was BS'ing you! A good, 6 volt generator will throw a minimum of 12 amps, and more usually 15 or 16.
