slow hydraulics on Cub

I have been using my 1950 Cub around the farm for 12 years and it has always done well. Recently, however, the hydraulic lift is getting verrrry slooooww. When cold, it hardly moves at all, but moving the control up and down several times will usually get it to move. It does better as it is used and warms up, but nothing like the easy use it used to have. I have been adding generic hydraulic fluid bought at CT Farm before it became TSC. Now that I have added almost a full gallon overall I am wondering if it is the right viscosity. Any thoughts? =Vic= Bear Gap, PA
