I THOUGHT I was going to have to split Cmore and put in a new ring gear, as mine was pretty chewed up in a couple of places. But, viola!!, I got a new gear on the starter, filed down the ruff places on the ring gear, and now she starts like new, starter catches right off ALL the time, and hasn't locked up since! It's worth a try...cost me $70 bucks for starter rebuild, including new gear and spring. Cmore
