The show was afterall, very heavily tractor oriented (The M-D model in the opening credits and the run down old Ford in the actual show). Funny story on the show....They had planned to use the opening credits M-D model in the show, but Ford Motor Company who helped sponsor the show said NO,and an old dilapitated Ford was found to be the laughing stock of Hooterville (sorta backfired on Ford huh?). In one episode,Mrs. Douglas buys a new tractor for Oliver's birthday, and it just happens to be an air conditioned, blue and white Ford (however, the names were changed on it for the show).
