I coppercoat all head gaskets I put on,, I dont know,, its like a common practice I do,, The reason is,, on most engines that have not been resurfaced for straightness, usually have a hint of warping in them,, the sealer helps fill in the gaps and keep it sealed a bit better. Coppercoat,, does stay in place, it does help heat transfer to keep the gasket a bit cooler in certain places, when the gaskets get really hot at times,, they loose the seal from expanding, and contracting, old workhorses can use all the preventative maintnence they can get. Some head gaskets you can get lucky and put em on dry, and not leak,, I have seen a few that does, and quite a few trhat I had to do it all over again,,, Chad
