The main problem with the M rearend's is that brearings go out.After 30 to 50 years of water in the oil thats not to bad of life.Of all the older tractors we take down the M family (M,SM,400,450,and 560) are the in best condition, bar none red ,green or any other color.The M family's rear ends got a bad rap because of peoples neglect.
