Check bolt for tranny oil?????

On the left side of the h's and m's there is a square headed bolt, it is just under the clutch rod. Is this the check point for the tranny oil? If i had my tractor level, and put oil into the rear, then once it has enough then it should leak out the hole, if i have the bolt out, correct?
