ahhh the memories... Bundling up like Nanook of the Northwest, spending 3 hours repairing what was broke yesterday, another hour greasing, one more hour warming up and hoping the wind doesn"t blow too hard which would cause the cotton to blow away while dumping the basket or worse, causing enough static electricity to build up causing a cotton fire. Half an hour to start the ole girl and get "er warmed up. Running south with a 3 mph wind blowing out of the north with a cloud of dust hanging all around, going back north into the wind freezing your hangy down thingies. The gears clanking, belts screaming and 400 acres more to go before December in this POS 2 row man killin machine. Yup, I miss it alot. Dad had a 400, tricycle, 2 row with basket on top cotton stripper, as opposed to a picker. Big difference. It had 5 gears and it ran like a top for many years. Stripped a Zillion acres before dad retired
