I have often heard that rubber was not factory available until 1935 or 36. However, I believe cutdowns were made a few years before then. I have read that early (and I mean EARLY) tractor pneumatics were nothing more than airplane tires with their rims welded to the steel centers. This was unsatisfactory since the tires would spin on the rims; they were not designed to pull that kinda load.
