Cotton pickers had a good road speed. Usually our two row pickers were shipped by rail from the factory which was just north of Memphis. Sometime we would drive new pickers from the factory to just accross the Mississippi line and load them on our cotton picker trailers, our dealership had two, to haul them to Greenville as we couldn't haul them through Memphis in Tennessee. We did this several times when we needed new pickers right then and didn't have time to wait on the railroad which took several days. Like any other high center of gravety machine you just had to be careful, but the road speed on both one and two row pickers was about the same as a tractor.
