Turf tires tend to be kinda fat at the tread area and I would think that with that kind of flotation you'd be depending entirely on your chains, so you'd be using your chains to dig down through the snow to something they can grip. Or in other words, they'd be about useless...
I have some experience with trying to move snow with a lawntractor with turf tires, and your better off shoveling. But just switch to a car type snow tire and you're back in the game.
