worked in a rubber manufaturing plant when I was young. They had air operated shears where the ladys cut up the raw rubber. two handles to operate so there was no way you could have your fingers in the way when the knife came down. Guess what? they girls always used a tarp strap on one lever so the could keep the work moving faster. And many of them were short fingers too. I know a man that was using a nailer like yours on a roof. He taped the trigger down and just like you he let the gun rest on his knee. OOps. Hope you get better soon Jon.
