I've been rebuilding the head on my M and, as part of that, I started rebuilding my carburetor. I was surprised to find that the carburetor bowl assembly is a: 6514 DA and the throttle body assembly is an 8557 My parts manual says the 6514 carburetor bowl is a kerosene/ distillate carburetor bowl, not gasoline. And it does not mention the 8557 throttle body at all, referring only to the 8867. I double-checked the numbers till my eyes crossed. Now I have assumed all along that my engine is a gasoline engine. It has only a single fuel tank, the manifold on it was a gasoline manifold, and the exhaust valves were equipped with rotator caps. I've run gasoline in the thing ever since I bought it. My questions are: 1) What kind of FrankenCarburetor am I looking at and is it possible to rebuild it as a gasoline carb? If so, which kit do I get? 2) I've already ordered gasoline valve guides, gasoline intake valves, gasoline exhaust valves, etc. for the head and it's at the machine shop. Is there any chance that the engine was originally a distillate/kerosene engine and, if so, can the gasoline valve parts be used in the head without problem? Thanks very much! greg
