The oil is the problem. Even if it doesn't look like it's burning oil, it is. IH's six-cylinder gas engines were designed to allow a small amount of oil past the intake valve guides and into the cylinders. You absolutly must use Case-IH Low Ash oil in these engines or you will have non-stop problems with fouled plugs and burned valves. We've had our 706 gas for 32 years now, always use Low Ash, never burned a valve, probably only fouls one plug a year. Some guys burn one valve per year. It has Autolite plugs right now, 386's I think
