#In terms of windrows, I find it makes nice fluffy high rows, my experience with other rakes is they tend to make the rows flatter and a bit ropy compared to this machine. #The 3 pth does not seem to be a problem with digging or following land contour . the tine angle and height is adjustable (at least on my 255) not 100% sure on the 254. #I have never used a chain for the top link. # My 255 was $5700 new (2003). # Overall, this tedder rake combo has worked very well and saved a lot of hay where I live in cold rainy northern Maine (hay is very difficult to make here. #Reliability? no problems so far, have not used to heavily - 20-25 acres of ted X 2 , rake X1 last 2 years (120 acres total in 2 years).
