My brother in law has a SMTA with aftermarket pwr strg and live hydraulics and with oversize 8ply front (row crow) tires and a good loader and around 1500 lbs of cast weights on each rear wheel...it is a darn good lifter. My tired 450 with worn factory equipment is not any better that good lawn tractor in the lifting dept. He made the comment that IH "cheapened up the old M" when they brought out the 450 with triple control hydraulics, pwr stry and quick tach hitch. It is true, mine has the cheap looking sheet steel front wheels instead of the classic iron ring ones. What is your opinion? and thanks
