I kept working it and it finally popped out. I think I had it cocked to one side. Thanks for the info on working both sides. I"m glad I have a press available- that bevel gear IS tight. While we"re on the subject of belt pulleys- How are they to be finished? Mine is in real good shape and I very lightly sand blasted the outside. It"s a real nice white color. The paper shows some wear but not bad for 51 years old. Guy Fay"s book doesn"t say and I"ve seen a lot of different ways to paint them. Some were left with the paper surface white, some black and some red. Any and all thoughts are greatly appreciated. Still sunny in Ohio- Craig
