I had to remove the entire dash tower asembly. Just enuf to where I could lay it over on the side. Battery tray, disconnect a couple lines going over the top of the speed transmission. Gas, brake, and a hydrolic line. Sounds worse than it actually was. I think it was more trouble getting the shift cam to let go of the shift rail so I could take the cover plate off. That and getting everything lined back up to set the cover plate back on. I took it out for a test run last night and everything seems to be working great. It does have a bit of a knock in the speed trans when the clutch is engaged, don't notice it as must at higher speeds.... but after seeing what was left of the shifter piece and knowing that it didn't break a tooth I'm not going to complain!
