Listen to Cowman. turn on the ignition. Turn on the gas (wait about 20 seconds). Choke it for only one pull up on the crank or the danged thing is likely to flood all over the place. Then full off choke. It should fire within 3 or four pulls up. When you turn the girl off, turn off the gas and let it starve itself to stop then turn off the ignition. When you stop it that way, you always start with a known quantity of gas in the carb (none). Every tractor starts differently. The known fuel in the carb allows one less variable. Soon you will be starting it on the second or third pull. Keep your thumb on the same side of the crank as your fingers and try to avoid spinning the crank. Oh, and post a picture.
