If you as set on mid-50's, find a tractor that has a 2pt Fast hitch, and get a set of extension arms with ball sockets and an upper mount for the 3rd link. Worksaver makes them, as do others. Have a set for my 350U, they work very well. I'm with Harold, sounds like what you're looking for is a Farmall rowcrop tractor (as opposed to a low slung IH Utility tactor) A 300 or 350 rowcrop would be about 40 hp, 4500 #, and could be had with or without PS, with or without live PTO and anywhere from 1-3 hydraulic valve bodies. Make sure you know what you're getting before you write the check. I believe one of the first IH tractors that had a 3pt, live PTO, live hydraulics was the 504. But I don't think they were introduced until the early 60's :-) G
